Growing up, we were tomboys. Not the kind that made mud pies, because that was a little too far for us (ew, dirt), but the kind that watched sports, played sports and knew sports like the back of our hands. In our childhood, we didn't know a life without sports - our dad coached football and men's basketball and we were around it 24/7, rarely missing an August football camp where we surely annoyed the athletic trainers and sports staff while we engaged in water bottle battles and other nonsense. Fast forward to today, and on Saturday's we Tailgate. So naturally, our fall apparel additions had to be sports related. Today is one of our favorite days of the month. It's a day that we know, all across the country, small business owners are gathering to meet and talk strategy, opportunity, set-backs, achievements and more. It's a day full of hope and that "fire" that every business owner hustling hard behind the silence of their computer screen longs for. Back when Megan got married, Pinterest wasn’t a thing. Or if it was a thing, it was right on the cusp of being popular and no one was using it for much of anything, because we certainly weren’t using it to plan a wedding! While her wedding was everything beautiful and perfectly stated in pops of cornflower blue with pink gerber daisies (the bridesmaid dresses were my all-time favorite, I’ll put a picture in our stories), it was missing some of the Pinterest-worthy things that you see today - like elaborate “Will you be my bridesmaid?” gifts. So when we designed a collection of coffee mugs, we thought that a gift to give your ‘maids (either before or after the wedding) as a little gift would be perfect. What we love about this one is that every piece is customizable - from the hair color to the skin tones and the names on the back of the robes. Vacation hangovers are a real thing! It’s as if you really need two weeks of “vacation” - the actual trip and then the week of recovery. The sense of rejuventation and hit-the-ground-running is definitely worth the time away, but navigating life is hard - getting back on a schedule, waking up early, having responsibilities again. When you’re away from your home you don’t have to sit around and think, “Should I go do that load of laundry?” because on vacation that isn’t even an option! So alas, the adjustment has taken quite some time but I think we are finally “ready to go” now!

Back from the most interesting vacation of all time and still feeling a bit “jet-lagged” from the 14 hour drive home. Giving myself a little grace over the next few days and planning not to do much work until Tuesday. That’s the amazing thing about this little Insta space. We have the ability to bring positivity and light to this environment. We have the chance to uplift, motivate and educate each other on the areas of life that matter most. We’ve had some not so good things happen this week, both professionally and personally. Our studio space has experienced ongoing flooding and one of our husbands has suffered a debilitating back injury. But you know what? We didn’t come this far to only come this far. Chatting with family this week about the RPS process we talked a little about the stress behind the scenes, which includes the big sigh of relief when we can check off the final shipment of a wedding suite. Not because we want to see it go - no, no, you guys know that part’s hard for us - but because we can finally stop worrying. And by worry we mean, the ever-constant checklist that plays on repeat over and over in our brains for every client. You see, this is why we know our clients wedding’s like the back of our hands - sometimes we have to remind ourselves that we aren’t actually attending these events because we get so invested we’re practically scheduling babysitters and planning to party with you and Great Aunt Millie.
