Our Next Chapter

We’re fresh off the heels of an incredible quarterly retreat at Lafayette Flats, and we’re feeling more inspired than ever as we enter 2019. When we took a look back at the last year of our business, we were blown away at the amount of progress we made in a short 12 months. We created a new website, we launched a line of products and we took on a number of incredibly beautiful design projects, just to name a few! As we enter the new year, we’re facing some big changes in our business, and we’re excited to share those with you, the #RPStribe.

“We’ll still be the same RPS you know and love, you’ll just be seeing more of us!”

Lifestyle + Stationery

As we looked back at what worked and didn’t work in 2018, we received an overwhelming response from our tribe that they wanted to see more lifestyle from us in the coming year. This ranged from a number of things including more about our families, more behind the scenes of our business, more of our daily routines and a glimpse into the things that we love. Stationery is our first love, and it will always be the center of our business. We’ll never go away from creating and designing the very best paper products - so never fear! But we have decided to do more lifestyle features in 2019. This will look like more blog posts, more stories on Instagram and more partnerships with brands we love. We’ll still be the same RPS you know and love, you’ll just be seeing more of us!

“We want to be more intentional about expanding our business behind the scenes.”

Reaching for our Goals

We took time at our retreat to look at the broad picture of our year and set ourselves up for success by creating goals and developing action plans. We can’t say enough about creating actionable, timely and specific goals that will help us measure the success of our business at the end of the year. Some of those goals include reaching more people through social media, increasing our product lines and allowing our stationery products to become more available to a wide range of clients. We also want to be more intentional about expanding our business behind the scenes. We started on that in 2018 by bringing our husbands into the fold, and in 2019 they’re coming on as our official business partners, helping to guide and shape the course of our future endeavors.

“We’re more excited than ever to see how the next chapter of our journey plays out!”

The Closing of a Chapter

In November 2018, we celebrated one year in our studio. It was an amazing year of learning and growth for our company, and we can’t say enough great things about the City of Hurricane and their hospitality as we took our business outside the four walls of our home for the very first time. We met so many amazing individuals at our workshops, created so many late night memories working alongside each other and learned so much about ourselves as business women. However, after much contemplation, our studio space in Hurricane is a chapter of our business journey that we’ve decided to close. As we’ve looked at the direction of our business, we plan to expand our online offerings and move away from our in-person workshops, eliminating the need for a brick-and-mortar space. Rock Paper Sisters is stronger than ever, more successful than ever and in an incredible place of growth. Sometimes growing means making hard decisions in order to continue in a positive direction, and we’re more excited than ever to see how this next chapter in our journey plays out!

We are incredibly excited to be standing on the horizon of what we hope to be our most successful year in business. We are so grateful for you, our tribe, for continuing to show up for us in this space - supporting our work, sharing our posts, telling your friends about us and making purchases. We can never express enough gratitude for how you’ve impacted us both professionally and personally. Here’s to an amazing 2019, tribe! May it be your best year yet!
